We are pleased to announce the MassCUE and M.A.S.S. 2015 Annual Technology Conference, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.). Both organizations recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership that focuses on the collective interests of our school districts.  We will be providing educators from across the Commonwealth with exciting and innovative ways to enhance teaching and learning with technology.

Wonder Centers: Research, Collaborate and Creating in the Library, Classroom and Computer Lab with iPads

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Attendees will learn about a variety of collaborative lessons used in a K-3 elementary school. Using “Wonder Centers” and iPads, the librarian/media specialist, literacy coach, classroom teachers have all collaborated within our school to integrate technology, maximize student learning and facilitate access to new information. Using fiction and nonfiction books, we guided the students using wonder questions and an inquiry based investigative process. Each lesson starts with a "Wonder Statement" and comprises three stages: "Engaging Students," "Exploring with Students," and "Encouraging Students to Draw Conclusions”. A collaborative project about nocturnal animals will also be shared. Through a “wonder center”, the PebbleGo database and iPads, the students shared their learning in a ChatterPix class movie.
