Ever been to a "plant swap" where local gardeners bring in their plants and bulbs from their home gardens to exchange with others? What if science teachers did the same thing? What if we all worked together to understand and create assessments for the new Massachusetts science standards? Well that’s just what we did with the first-ever "Question Swap". Teachers from around the state used commonly shared Google Sheets to swap and share and edit science questions for the new science standards. Each participant contributed just a few questions of their own but left with a complete library of questions for each of the 80+ standards in all four strands (Physical, Earth and Space, Technology / Engineering, and Life). Teachers are now using the questions for their pre- and post-assessments, in-class quizzes, Common Assessments, and District Determined Measures. Come to this talk to find out how we organized the collaboration with Google Sheets and join in the fun as we continue to swap and improve the quiz questions for each of the new standards.
